In simplest terms, this is the name for an eyelid lift. Eyelid surgery can be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids to remove excess skin as well as fat pads. During Upper Blepharoplasty, <a href=\"\/about\/facial-plastic-surgeon-pittsburgh-pa\/\">Dr. Leong<\/a> can remove sagging skin that may have increased with age, causing somewhat of a \u201chood\u201d over the eye. This procedure leaves patients with a more youthful and open-eyed appearance.\u00a0 In some cases, in addition to skin, Dr. Leong will remove some of the fat in the upper eyelid.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 105%; font-family: 'Cambria',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Upper Blepharoplasty takes about 40 minutes to complete on both eyelids and you should expect to spend a few hours at the office. Long-lasting local anesthesia is used in combination with oral sedation to achieve patient comfort when done in our outpatient offices. Since the patient is not fully sedated under general anesthesia, Dr. Leong can make detailed adjustments along the crease of the eyelid which leads to more accurate results. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 105%; font-family: 'Cambria',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Upper Blepharoplasty can be done in the OR if the patient prefers.
