Restylane® Lyft

shutterstock_56560894Constant improvements and advances are being made in the cosmetic industry. Restylane® Lyft was recently FDA-approved to treat sagging cheeks in need of volume, as well as bothersome smile lines. It is the only FDA filler approved to contour and plump cheeks while also smoothing out nasolabial folds and smile lines. Restylane® Lyft is composed of the same material as Restylane® and Perlane® – hyaluronic acid with lidocaine – and lasts approximately one year. Restylane® Lyft can be used in conjunction with other fillers, such as Restylane® Silk for the lips, Restylane® in the tear troughs, and Perlane® in the nasolabial folds. BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport® may also be injected in the crow’s feet, forehead, and/or glabella lines at the same time. Combining various non-surgical procedures to address aging symptoms will result in the most beneficial and remarkable results.

The following will give you more information about Restylane® Lyft and the treatment process. If you have questions, or if you would like to schedule a consultation here at Sistine Facial Plastic Surgery, please contact us today.

How many treatments of Restylane® Lyft are needed?

Restylane® Lyft is a one-time injection done in the office. It lasts approximately one year. It is important to note that fillers injected into areas of the face that move frequently do not last as long. In addition, with routine maintenance, fillers may last longer in-between treatments.

Who is a good candidate for Restylane® Lyft injections?

Patients (men or women) over the age of 21 with sagging or hollow cheeks and/or bothersome smile lines.

Is treatment painful?

The pain is minimal. Restylane® Lyft contains lidocaine – a substance that reduces sensation, allowing for a more comfortable treatment. For added comfort, ask about applying numbing cream before the procedure.

How long does treatment take and how quickly do you see results?

Timing depends on the goals of the patient and how many injections will be given. It generally does not take more than 30 minutes and results are seen immediately.

Will I bruise after treatment?

This is a possibility and should be considered when scheduling your appointment. If you refrain from blood thinning agents (such as alcohol, ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E, aspirin) a week before treatment, you can reduce your chances. Also, Dr. Paul Leong injects the filler using blunt tip needles (microcannulas), which minimizes the risk of bruising.

What was being used prior to Restylane® Lyft?

Sculptra® Aesthetic, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® and Perlane® were all used to add volume to the face prior to Restylane® Lyft. Depending on your goals, Dr. Paul Leong will be able to decide which product will work best for you during a consultation.
